On Tuesday the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr
Rybak awarded state prizes and
distinctions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to people’s deputies and workers
of production industry and socio-cultural sphere for considerable contributions
to state construction, socioeconomic, cultural and educational development of
the Homeland, as well as high professionalism.

Greeting the solemn meeting participants, the Chairman of the Parliament stressed that today, by fulfilling its European aspirations, Ukraine is on the historical path. “Thus, everything possible should be made to place Ukraine in the first flight, with the European standards of living, because we are a European nation,” he said.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his appreciation to the awarded for their selfless labour, for the fact that “they build our lives with their deeds.”
Prizes of the CIS member states for active participation of Ukrainian citizens in the activity of Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and its bodies will also be awarded.
